1967 – 2003 - The third generation.

After Ernst Heitmann’s death in 1967 his sons Günter and Eckhard Heitmann took over the management of the company.

A constant production increase made it necessary to build a second factory in Gütersloh, but it didn’t take long until this capacity turned out to be too small. In 1973 the large concern, which still exists today, was built and opened in Verl-Sürenheide on a 17,000 m².large property.

Even today, the company follows the traditions of the founder August Strothlücke.The Westphalian sausage and ham specialities are still produced according to the original recipes. The modern production technology and methods ensure that a constant and high quality is maintained. Astro will continue in the future to follow the spirit of the founding years and the daring of their ancestors, to challenge new ways and to allow tradition and progress equal priority.
